Who wants to be a Filipino Doctor? FAQs on Top 20 Philippine Medical Schools’ Tuition Fees

doctor-01Do you have what it takes?

Did you always have that dream of being in a white gown, with stethoscope draped on your neck while you attend to some patient in your clinic?

Or have you tried imagining yourself in an emergency room in action, armed with your skills in surgery, and knowledge in the human anatomy?

Or do you believe and insist that your calling is to save lives?

Well, whatever your reasons are, don’t just draw images in your head, strive to make them real. All you need is a little push on your academics, a financial strategy to survey through your expenses, a lot of patience in applying for scholarships, a bucketful of faith, determination, passion and knowledge.

They often say that it doesn’t matter on what University you go to, so as long as you study your way up. But, if you would try to consider your chances, and the opportunity for a greater learning, then why not invest in one of the top schools available for you, so as long as you think it fits your needs, and you could find ways to fit into the demands of your chosen University, then why not grab the chance?

Listed below are the Top 20 Medical Schools, ranked using the performance score of each respected schools during the August 2014, Physician’s Licensure Examination of the Philippine Regulatory Commission.

Majority of the students who would want to take up medicine would immediately scroll down a FAQ page of a Medical school to check the Tuition fee, so let’s make your lives easier by showing you the approximate fees you have to pay for these schools.

This post became suddenly viral.  And few of my readers/students in the Universities corrected some of the information above.  I apologize for some mistakes, but these are rough estimates and some medical school do not really give information when ask by phone.  I only do this because I want to help out those who wanted to be a doctor.

Greetings Dr. Intal.. I’ve read your article regarding the tuition fees of the top 20 medical schools you posted last may 29, 2015..i am currently studying medicine at university of the east ramon magsaysay. I am an incoming 2nd year student and have recently enrolled for the upcoming school year.. i would just like to comment that our tuition fee isn’t as low as 85k+.. in fact, i think we’re higher than ust a little.. our tuition fee is approx 125k-130k+..i don’t mean any offense and i’m not boasting about the amount of our tuition fees.. its just to inform you and other readers about our tuition fee.. thank you and god bless..

  5. Angeles University Foundation School of Medicine is located along MacArthur Highway, Angeles City. Not Manuel Roxas. Had this been published on 2012, school fees would have reached 90,000++, and not 65,000. Please have the right attitude and journalistic responsibility of publishing the correct facts, before posting them out in the public.

    • Thank you for your update, will update the post. I repeat, all are rough estimates, I am just doing this to help others who wants to be one. Let us all help them.

        • Thank you Pearl. This post is a year ago na. So, it’s not really updated. Will try to do a newer version of of this. Maybe before start of school year next year. 🙂

  12. Xavier University Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine's tuition fee per sem is 70,000 and above.

  13. If the number of passers is a rough estimate then the schools should not be ranked as such. It only suggests that this article is full of bias.

    • The number of Passers are not estimates. They are exact numbers. The rough estimate are the tuition fees since Tuition changes without prior notice and changes every time.

  22. Jaysukh Kalathiya

    Hi, everyone
I am from India. I want my daughter to study in Philippines. Please suggest me the best Medical School in any metro cities.
Thank you very much in advance.

    • Jaysukh Kalathiya

      study in MD (UG)

    • Hi, better if you go here first to see which school is best suited to your daughter. If you don’t want the traffic in the city, the provincial medical schools are also good choice.

  23. Adrian Fernandez

    Hi Doc. Pinky

It was my childhood dream to become a doctor to help those who are destitute and underprivileged in our society. Yet, I am coming from the peasant family that is why I have never attained that dream. I am 44 years old and still I have that inner desire to continue and achieve that dream. I am an OFW working in Europe for 9 years just to save some for my medical studies. Do I still have the chance? Will there be a medical school in the Philippines that can accommodate me? Thank you for the reply…

    Adrian

    • Yes I believe medical schools will accommodate you. But, are you sure you still want to do this? If you are 44 now, you might finish around 49 then boards, then residency pa ng 3-5 years. Ask your self if you still want that. And remember, you can’t work while studying. It’s difficult to do.

      • Cecil Ong

        Hi dra pinky,
Im 40 and planning to pursue med next yr. I assume to finish med when i reach the age around 45 or 46. Is it alright if i dont specialize anymore because I have 2 postgrads ( diabetes and clinical nutrition-masteral) parang family med lang? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dr. Pinky

I am a mother working in UAE. My daughter is a Medtech student in QC & planning to enter college of medicine by 2018. Due to financial constraint I am planning to send her in Cebu Institute of Med. When can we get an updated list of fees for FEU, St. Lukes, CIM, UST, UERM? PLM is affordable to me but I heard it is very difficult for non Manila resident to get admission. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
